That's Fisher Peak behind me, the highest point in the Raton Pass, on the Colorado and New Mexico state line. Its a long drive to Colorado, about 11 hours. For a while we drove through a lot of nothing in west Texas, then through a lot of corn, and then through some very beautiful terrain in New Mexico and Colorado. The ridges, canyons, and buttes in New Mexico were very pretty, as well as the mountains. They are some of the largest extinct volcanoes in the state. Very picturesque. In Colorado, the land was flat and barren, and then suddenly huge mountains rose up out of the ground. Even though the drive was long, we got to see some beautiful things, so it wasn't so bad.
